(April 5, 2022) --- New Hampshire Republican U. S. Senate candidate Andy Martin
will hold a Manchester news conference Friday, April 8th to announce
he has scheduled a trip to Ukraine to analyze and report on the state of the war
as well as growing humanitarian issues.
“This news
release has been in preparation for over a week, after we finalized our travel plans,”
Andy says. “But the Russian massacre at Bucha has transfixed the world and
mandated an extended personal observation of conditions in Ukraine. Since the
Viet-Nam era, I have been involved in analyzing and reporting on military and
intelligence matters. My experience and insight will be invaluable.
“My global team
has developed a four-point matrix to organize my trip.
“What makes my
trip unique is that, in addition to my media work, we can accommodate a limited
number of Granite Staters who may want to accompany me to the war zone. It is a
unique opportunity for people interested in European history and the current conflict
(see below).
“I began my
study of Russia and the Cold War many decades ago as a young military cadet.
But most of my life was spent in Asia and the Middle East. This is the first
time I will be going to Europe to analyze a war that I can’t quite believe is taking
place. I thought European wars were over with WW II. I never believed a Russian
madman would launch a new European war.
“‘Never Again’
will have to be changed to ‘All Over Again.’
“Putin’s Russian
atrocities will shadow the continent for fifty years or more,” Andy says. “People
who believe this conflict will fade quickly are mistaken. Over the decades we
have come to overuse the terms ‘Hitler’ and ‘Nazis.’ But Putin truly is a new
Hitler, and Russian forces are repeating the calumny of the German army 80
years ago.”

Andy is not organizing
a formal group. Anyone who wants to join him will have to pay separately for
their own travel and accommodations. Andy is not collecting any money for the
trip, except as indicated below. He will coordinate travel schedules and
accommodations with people who want to join him. While he will not be a formal
guide, he will be able to work with the group when he is not engaged in the
working part of his trip.
Andy will depart
from JFK on May 4th and fly to Warsaw, and then make his way into
Ukraine. Details and estimated costs on request.
If you want to donate to support Andy’s efforts in
Ukraine:
Many Granite
Staters have donated to Ukrainian aid. Andy will accept donations both to
support his own efforts as well as specific amounts for which designated
recipients are requested. Any contributions will receive a detailed accounting
at the end of the trip. This is not a charitable operation, so no tax donation
is available. This is not a political trip, so the funds will not be part of
Andy’s campaign.
